How to pick out a wood chipper

What are you going to use the wood chipper for?  Home use requires a small, portable gas operated chipper.  These chippers are perfect for clearing limbs and branches from your yard.  Make your own mulch!

For ranches or large properties a larger wood chipper that runs off a tractor’s PTO is ideal.  This is a more powerful wood chipper and you will be able to cut larger limbs and product larger amounts of mulch.

Professional or Commercial grade chippers, frequently used by tree servicers are large gas or diesel powered chippers.  This wood chippers are towed behind a vehicle and taken easily to job sites.  Most have a grabber that will pick up trees, stumps and brush and will drop it into a large drum so it can be automatically fed into the shredder.
